In the previous article we spoke about\nsome of the advantages of using ceramic tiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are areas where, due to\ntheir intrinsic characteristics, the use of ceramic tiles is more common, such\nas kitchens or bathrooms. However, it is not a deterrent that they are used in\nother areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today we share with you some\nsuggestions on how to cover the walls of your home with ceramic material.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The kitchen<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We start with the kitchen, which\nis an area where the use of ceramics is privileged; being a space where,\namongst others, high levels of humidity, fumes, odors, stains, layers of\ngrease, are concentrated, it is undoubtedly the material that makes most sense\nto use, both for its resistance and for its ease of cleaning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Amongst other materials, such as\nwood or marble, ceramics has the best performance in relation to the aggression\nagents mentioned above (humidity, smoke, odors, grease), due to its physical\nand chemical characteristics, compared to other materials, such as wood, stone,\ntextile, wallpaper or vinyl, and logically \ntherefore the right choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually the wall areas are\ncompletely covered with this material, making it easier to clean and minimizing\nattacks by aggressive agents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However you can choose strategic\nwalls such as the backsplash, the area between the upper and lower cabinets, as\nit is most susceptible to grease stains, splashes, vapors and fumes; another\ninteresting way of covering this division is to create distinct areas with decorative\naccents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an example, we have chosen two\ntypes of ceramic tendencies to cover the backsplash wall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the first example we find the so-called \u201csubway tile\u201d. The rectangular shape is trendy, and creates a clean and modern look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second example, we chose a hydraulic mosaic\ntile for the backsplash wall, a product that was fashionable in the 70s and\nwhich now appears replicated in ceramics with a new design and enriched with\nvibrant colors. We chose the Liv’in collection and its Diamond decorations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bathroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The bathroom is the second room where ceramic is most\nused as a wall covering. The choice of this type of bathroom tile is related to\nthe same factors that make it the most popular type of tile for kitchens:\nresistance to humidity and easy cleaning, in addition to its decorative\ndimension. Although it is not absolutely necessary to use it in the entire\nbathroom, it is essential to apply it in areas that are more prone to water\nrunoff, such as the shower or wash-basin area. One way to harmonize the\ndifferent areas of the bathroom is to combine the chosen tile with details |\nnotes only in some areas such as the shower or washbasin area creating a\nharmonious contrast between them, accentuating their character which, in\naddition to being functional, also has a decorative component. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In exemples  1 and\n2 we present the shower area differentiated from the rest, through the\ninclusion of diamonds in the 10×18 format or multicolored mosaics, creating a\ndecorative element to the bathroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another area that can be\nhighlighted with a decorative note is the washbasin area. We chose the Herring\nmosaic from the Urban Stone collection to create a sublime highlight for this\narea, harmonizing it with the others;  another interesting example\nis the detail offered by the Scales collection, which creates an elegant and\nsophisticated design in the lavatory area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bedroom<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The bedroom is possibly the most unlikely area for\nusing ceramics, especially in terms of wall covering. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A good way to incorporate ceramics in a room is to use\nmatt materials that create a feeling of comfort and well-being.  Embossed\ncoverings (or stone imitation) are also a good option for these spaces,\ncreating warm environments with a high sense of comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In this environment, we used the Muretto\nbeige decoration, combined with minimalistic furniture and sober colors,\nproving that ceramics are capable of creating warm and intimate environments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The living room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The living room is also a room with\nless likelihood of using ceramic as a wall covering, however, although with a\nmore decorative than functional purpose, its use is possible. With the\ntechnological advancement in the area of \u200b\u200bceramics, almost perfect reproductions\nof materials such as wood, stone or natural stone appear, commonly used in the\ndesign of housing spaces (the same to bedroom areas). These materials, due to\ntheir characteristics, price or maintenance, have given way to ceramics, which\nhave a better performance in terms of resistance and durability, without losing\nthe aesthetic qualities of the former. The feeling of comfort that more\ntraditional materials like wood offer is replicated in ceramics with warm\nenvironments. Here are examples of application of ceramics in living areas; in\nthe first example we recreated a large, modern and clean living area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the second example, we see a harmonization between\nembossed ceramic tiles – the so-called brick effect – and wooden floor tiles,\ncreating a very cozy living area. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The dining room<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The dining room can act as an extension of the work\narea – the kitchen. It is a social space that is often linked to the kitchen,\npromoting socialization during the preparation and dining experiences. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thus, the harmonization between these two areas is\npossible and desirable, and the use of ceramics in this context can be an\nexcellent solution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We present a solution that incorporates ceramic tiles\nin the dining room in a style that oscillates between classic and contemporary.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tiles in the classic 10×10 format and the color\nelement combined with modern pieces of furniture and simple lines create a\ncheerful, pleasant and comfortable space condusive to many hours of socializing\nat the table.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other areas: entrance hall,crossing areas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These\nspaces are often neglected because they are transit areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

However,\nthere are ways to enhance these areas with ceramic products. Why not create a\nhighly differentiating wall that makes an immediate impact right at the\nentrance to your home? Here we present a good solution for a lobby, through the\nuse of rectangular tiles in a composition that creates a kind of canvas wall, accentuated\nonly by a few decorative elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is another example of a narrow passage way that can be enhanced and stretched using ceramics. In this example, our choice of a decoration from the Concrete collection with longitudinal reliefs which, applied horizontally, create a feeling of elongation of the area, creating some dynamics to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
