To conclude the 50th anniversary celebrations, the University of Aveiro has inaugurated a commemorative totem called ‘Gloss\u00e1rio’ near Rua da Pega.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Positioned at ‘Ponto 50,’ this 6-meter-high artistic installation features four faces that pay tribute to iconic elements of the region\u2014 Ria, Salt, Wind, and Light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These faces showcase a selection of 21 words, voted by the community, that represent values and memories from the university\u2019s five decades of history. The words were later screen-printed onto 2,500 14×14 cm tiles, some of which were hand-painted during a community session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The project was designed by Est\u00fadio Pedrita in collaboration with the artistic intervention platform Mistaker Maker<\/strong><\/a>.
