At the invitation of the Municipality of Aveiro, we were challenged to create a ceramic mural measuring 57 meters in length, recreating an illustration by the popular Aveiro artist Fatinha Ramos.
Named ‘Reflections,’ this piece represents the encounter and reflection of the salt pans in the Ria de Aveiro, as well as the depiction of an imaginary underwater world where two people and some imaginary creatures meet in the depths of the Ria.
In total, over 5000 tiles were produced, painted with manual painting techniques and colors specifically developed to recreate all the sensations and reliefs projected by the artist.
The ‘Reflections’ Mural is part of the ‘À descoberta do azulejo de Aveiro’ itinerary and can be found near the Meliá Ria Hotel & SPA located at Cais da Fonte Nova.
